About Me

does your child need a doctor right now?

Having three kids under the age of six is quite exciting. We never have a dull moment in our house and often have injuries and illnesses that need to be tended to by a doctor. I have learned a lot over the past six years about when a child needs to be seen by a doctor immediately and when certain things can wait until their regular pediatrician is available. I created this blog to help other parents learn about the injuries and illnesses that their children may experience when a doctor isn't available to take a child to whenever these things happen.

Realizing The Role Professional Drug Testing Plays In Your Business

When you interview applicants for open positions in your company, you want to believe every one of them will be an asset if you were to offer them a job. However, you also realize people may purposely hide sensitive information from you in a bid to get hired right away.

Rather than entirely trust your applicants to be sober and law-abiding, you may prefer to put them through further screening before hiring them. This screening process can include having your potential new hires undergo professional drug testing.

Obeying the Law

When you have your applicants go through drug testing, you can ensure the people you hire are law-abiding and not engaged in illicit and illegal drug use. You may want to avoid putting your business at risk of hiring someone who has a dependency on an illegal substance or may be engaged in illegal activities like drug manufacturing or selling.

To ensure your applicants are clean and sober, you can have them go through drug testing first. You can then offer them jobs confidently and with the knowledge they may avoid bringing this type of illegal activity onto your business's premises.

Minimizing Liabilities

Further, drug testing can help you minimize the legal and financial liabilities you may take on as a business owner. For example, if you were to hire someone who is addicted to drugs, you might put your business at risk of having money stolen from it. This new hire may steal money out of your cash registers or steal and sell assets like expensive computer equipment to support their drug habit.

Rather than risk your business losing money and assets, you can have your applicants undergo drug testing first. You may have more confidence in them not having to steal from you to support their illegal drug use.

Saving Money

Finally, you may put a lot of money into training your new employees. You want to avoid putting that large sum of money into someone who is addicted to illegal substances. You avoid losing that investment if that person gets fired, arrested, or overdoses and cannot come to work because of drug dependency.

Drug testing can be an important part of hiring people to work for you. This testing can reveal which applicants are clean, sober, and in compliance with drug abuse laws. It can also minimize the legal and financial risk you assume as a business owner when hiring people to work for you.
